About the Mosquito Waterfall.

A waterfall in Lençóis, in the Chapada Diamantina. The name comes from the abundance of small diamonds in the area, which prospectors fondly called "little mosquitoes".

It is a short tour that takes half the day: departure from 8:00 and return around 13:00. That leaves room to fit another attraction into the same day.

We usually pair it with the Muritiba Park, Pai Inácio Hill, Ribeirão do Meio or Serra das Paridas — and also with the Poço Azul, which fits well into a transfer between Lençóis and Mucugê. Talk to our team about the pairing that suits you.

Departure between 8:00 and 9:00. It is about 1 hour by car (40 km): 20 km of asphalt on the BR-242 and 20 km of rough road through the countryside around Lençóis.
We arrive at the Santo Antônio farm, the private property where the waterfall sits — and where you can have a good lunch on the way back.
After the drop-off, a 20 to 30 minute walk downhill, part trail and part steps, to the Santo Antônio riverbed, where you see the Mosquito Waterfall from below.
The place presents no imminent or technical risk, but it does call for care on the slippery sections and when the water volume is high — the guide accompanies the whole route. After the swim, we return the same way to the car and head to the Santo Antônio farm or straight back to Lençóis.

The descent mixes trail and steps: closed shoes with grip handle both.

A 50% deposit confirms the booking, by transfer, deposit or boleto. The remaining 50% at check-in in cash, or by deposit up to 2 business days before.

Card payments carry a 6% surcharge and can be split into up to 12 instalments, according to the rates charged by PagSeguro, Mercado Pago and similar providers.

Send the receipt with the confirmed date, and the full name and ID number of each participant.

Cancellation by the traveller follows Brazilian EMBRATUR normative resolution no. 161/1985:

30+ days before: 90% refunded
21–29 days: 80% refunded
7–20 days: 50% refunded
Fewer than 7 days: no refund
During the package: no refund

Before cancelling: you can name a replacement or keep the amount as credit for another date. Booking fee: 10% as a penalty if you cancel after confirmation.

No-show: failing to appear means losing the full amount. Mamut may change the itinerary when the weather compromises safety; the tour runs even in rain, except in cases of force majeure.

We work with a network of partners. If a tour is passed on to another operator, the prices charged may vary with the number of participants, the type of tour and the logistics required — they may match our counter price, or be adjusted up or down.

By booking with us, you agree that where a tour is passed on, delivery of the service becomes the responsibility of the designated operator. Our role is to broker the booking and ensure that what was contracted is delivered; we are not liable for price differences identified after booking.
